The answers you need
Florence has lots of postal codes: which one do I enter?
The code for your street, between 50121 and 50145. Some streets have two, one per stretch: what counts is the full address with the house number, and the system works out the exact code. For reference, Palazzo Vecchio, in piazza della Signoria, is in 50122.
I live inside the center's traffic zone: how does it work?
When the limited traffic zone is on, crossing the gates takes a permit. Note that you live in the historic center and which side to enter from: before confirming the date we tell you how we'll organize the pickup.
Does storage in Florence cost the same as in Milan?
The Florence rates are set separately from Milan's: you pay for the floor area you use. For the pickup, distance is what counts, and the online calculation shows it before you confirm.
Do you also go to towns in the province?
Of course, the whole province: Scandicci, Sesto Fiorentino, Bagno a Ripoli, Fiesole, out to Empoli and the Mugello. If you later leave the province, your things reach you by shipping, and you get the quote first.

Does my district have a page?
Yes, each of the five: historic center, Campo di Marte, Gavinana-Galluzzo, Isolotto-Legnaia and Rifredi. They describe access in that part of the city, from the stairs in the center to the basement garages of Novoli, and they are gathered in one index.
Is there a page for my situation?

Are you in Florence every day?
No. In the city we operate only on certain days, and on some only in the afternoon. The calendar shows only the dates and time slots actually available, for picking up and for bringing back.

Pickup in Florence: areas and access
Florence's five districts set the pickup different problems, and you find them one by one on the districts page. Many people move often: students, people here for work, people renovating an apartment in a historic building. We are not in the city every day of the week: the calendar shows the free days.

In the center, the traffic zone has gates
Sectors A, B and O of the limited traffic zone are active Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and cameras at the gates read the number plate. If you live inside, note it with your street: we plan the pickup day around it.
In the Oltrarno, the van stops short
Between Santo Spirito and San Frediano many streets won't take a large vehicle, so we park at the nearest opening and finish the trip by hand. In the notes, point out the right door or courtyard.
Historic buildings, narrow stairs
In the center's buildings an elevator is often missing, and when there is one a wardrobe rarely fits. Tell us which floor you're on: the time on the stairs is already in the price you see before booking.
Outside the center, the gate decides
In Novoli, Isolotto or Coverciano we often load in front of the shared garage or on the basement level. If access only opens with a remote, keep it handy that day.
Lectures in Novoli, a room to leave in July
Between the Novoli campus, viale Morgagni and the Sesto Fiorentino campus, University of Florence students often move at the end of the academic year. Books, bikes and lamps stay with us over the summer, and in September they reach the next room.
Renovating an apartment in a historic building
Redoing the parquet or the wiring means clearing the rooms, and in the center there's rarely a courtyard to leave the sofa in. We take the furniture away before the work starts and bring it back once the builders are done.
The cellar in Campo di Marte is full
Odd chairs, suitcases and years of boxes all go in the same load, and there's room again for everyday things.
