FAQ on storage when selling or renting out a home in Florence
Can I take furniture out of just some rooms?
Yes: you choose what goes. One living room, a whole bedroom or the bulkiest pieces of each room: we collect what you list in the quote and the rest stays where it is.
I have antique family furniture: do you take it?
Household furniture yes, antique too, if well packed and flagged at pickup. Fine art and valuable collectibles can't be stored. If you have a piece of great value, write to us before the pickup and we'll agree how to handle it.
Hill home, narrow road: can you reach it?
Write the street and number in the notes and what the road is like: narrow, steep, unpaved. We look at it before fixing the pickup, because it changes how we plan the loading.
The sale takes two months or six: does anything change?
The rate runs month by month: it lasts as long as the sale does. If you commit to more months, it's the pickup price that goes down; what applies to your order you read in the quote.

How do you clear a Florentine home before selling it?
You take out the furniture that hides the home, not the pieces you need to live in it. In Florence that means leaving ceilings, windows and rooms in view and putting the rest elsewhere. We do the pickup, both in the city and in the towns around; the rate follows the months you need, and the furniture comes back once the home has changed hands.
A historic building sells on its height
Visitors to an apartment in the center look for high ceilings, vaults and light from the courtyard. A floor-to-ceiling bookcase and a second wardrobe cover them: take them out and the room is big again.
The tourist apartment changes life
Florence has many apartments furnished for short stays. If one moves to a long lease or goes up for sale, the extra beds and sofas aren't needed: we collect them and keep them aside in case they come back in useful.
Villas and farmhouses: big rooms, too much furniture
On the hills of Fiesole, Settignano or Bagno a Ripoli, family furniture has piled up over generations. Before the agent comes the surplus goes out, and the pieces that tell the story of the house stay.
The deed has no date, and neither does the furniture
Between viewings, an offer and the notary deed, weeks or months go by. The rate is monthly: no end date to guess today.
From the crowded living room to the photos, in four steps
1. Pick the space and the day, before the photographer
You give the square meters and the pickup date, a few days before the photo shoot. In the quote, before paying, you see rate and pickup; you also write the floor and elevator there, which change the loading time.
2. We come to collect
We load furniture and boxes ourselves, in the city and out of it. If a wardrobe won't go through the door whole, disassembly is a quote-based service, to be requested with the pickup.
3. It stays indoors while the viewings go on
A closed, dry warehouse, with controlled entry, cameras and an alarm. If the deed slips, the rate simply carries on month by month.
4. It moves into the new home
Once the sale is done or the lease signed you choose date and address, the new home's too if it is in the province of Florence. Further away we ship on a quote.

Stays at home
Cash and jewelry, original documents, plants, food and liquids, hazardous materials, fine art and valuable collectibles can't be stored. An important painting or a very valuable piece stays with you: write to us before the pickup and we'll look at it together.

The rate depends on the square meters the furniture takes up, on the Florence price list; once only, at the start, there is the pickup.
