FAQ on storage for the nursery in Florence
I live on the top floor with no elevator: can I book?
Yes. In the quote you write the floor and that there's no elevator: the loading time is worked out accordingly, and you see it as an estimate before booking.
We're looking for a home in Scandicci or Sesto Fiorentino: can the furniture go straight there?
Yes: redelivery can be to any address in the service area, the new home included. For the move itself, from one home to another within the province of Florence, you need a separate quote.
How much space do a desk and a sofa bed need?
The calculator estimates it, with a margin for stacking built in. When your things reach the warehouse we measure what they really take up and the rate adjusts, up or down: we write to you within two working days, with photos.
The dates change at the last minute: can I move the pickup?
Yes. A booked pickup can't be canceled, but it can be moved: the first move carries no penalty if you tell us at least 48 hours ahead. If the new day costs more, you see the difference before confirming.

How do you make room for a nursery in a Florentine apartment?
You take out of the house what fills the room meant for the baby and keep it aside as long as you need. We collect the furniture, in the city or the province; it stays with us as long as needed, month after month, and comes back on the date you choose, even many months later. You keep the crib and the changing table.
The center has few rooms, all taken
A apartment in the center or Oltrarno often has two bedrooms and a bathroom. If the study becomes the nursery, the desk and the bookcase have to go elsewhere, and the corridor won't hold them.
On the top floor there is no elevator
A sofa bed carried by hand down four flights is a job for two people with good backs. In the quote you give the floor and whether there's an elevator, and the pickup is planned around the time it really takes.
You're looking for a bigger home, but not for tomorrow
If you're looking at Scandicci, Bagno a Ripoli or Sesto Fiorentino for one more bedroom, the move may come after the birth. Until then the surplus waits in storage and then goes straight to the new home.
The grandparents' cellar is already full
It has its own story and rarely has room for your desk. Storage by the month saves you from taking up somebody else's.
How to clear the room without rushing
1. Book when you know the dates
As soon as you know when the room must be ready, choose the space and the pickup day leaving a few weeks of margin. The quote puts the rate and the pickup side by side before you pay.
2. We load, bulky pieces too
Bulky items leave without a box. If the desk won't go through the door, disassembly is added to the quote; at pickup an adult is needed, you or someone you've delegated.
3. It stays in a closed warehouse
Indoors and dry, with controlled access, CCTV and an alarm. The rate is paid month by month.
4. It comes back when there's room
When the new home is ready, or the study is needed again, you ask for redelivery to an address in the province of Florence: even of just part, with two days' notice.

You don't choose the date of a birth, you do choose the date of a pickup. Here are the moments when storage comes into the house and what to do in each.

A booked pickup can't be canceled, it can be moved. From the second time, or with less than 48 hours' notice, moving it is charged.
How much does it cost to keep furniture out of the house during the wait?
The rate is monthly and depends on the square meters you take up: it starts at 1 m², from the Florence price list. You pay the pickup once, at the start, and redelivery when you book it. With more months of commitment the pickup price goes down, never the rate.
