Patio furniture storage in Florence: your questions
Can I leave terracotta pots with the lemon tree still in them?
The pots, empty, clean and packed as fragile items, yes. The plant and the soil no: plants are excluded from storage, so the lemon tree stays with you and spends the winter where you've always kept it.
The table is long and the building's stairs are narrow: what then?
Flag the floor and the elevator when you book, because they weigh on the loading time. If the piece doesn't fit through whole, taking it apart is done on a quote together with the pickup: it isn't included in the rate.
Do you collect on the hills, in Fiesole or Settignano?
Yes: we collect and redeliver at any address in the province of Florence. You enter the address when you book and see the quote before confirming.
Can I get the table back in March and leave the loungers?
Yes. For a partial redelivery you write to us what you want back, with at least 48 hours' notice, and the rest stays in the warehouse under the same contract.

Do cushions have to be dry, even after a summer thunderstorm?
Yes: no wet fabric goes into the warehouse. Wait until they're dry, even days later, and only then put them in the box.

Service and local details
Where do you keep patio furniture when summer ends?
Indoors. A wooden table and cushions left out after a summer of sun and an fall of rain lose in one season what they were worth. In Florence, though, a table for eight doesn't fit in a cellar in the center, or in a garage. We collect it at the end of summer and bring it back in spring.
Terraces and rooftop loggias
The historic buildings of the center have terraces and loggias reached by narrow stairs, and in winter the furniture has nowhere to go but the hallway. For the stairs, the operator takes care of it.
Hillside yards, Fiesole and around
Anyone with a yard in Fiesole, Settignano or Bagno a Ripoli usually has more furniture than a shed holds: loungers, a swing seat, a big table, two parasols.
Cushions and fabrics before the rains
Cushions, covers and seat pads take up a whole wardrobe all winter. They go into clean, dry boxes with the rest of the terrace, and come back with it in spring.
The terrace of a vacation rental
If you rent an apartment with a terrace to tourists, you use it from spring to October: out of season tables and chairs have no reason to stay outside.
From the end of summer to spring, step by step
1. Empty, clean and dry
Dry cushions, tables and chairs free of soil, pots and plants emptied: a muddy or soaked piece doesn't come into the warehouse.
2. You book and tell us where they are
You state the space and the date, and whether the pieces are on a terrace or in a yard: floor and elevator weigh on the loading time and you find them in the quote.
3. We come to collect
Tables, chairs and parasols leave as they are, with no box. Cushions go in boxes of 20 kg at most.
4. In spring they go back where they were
You request the redelivery with at least 48 hours' notice. If you need only the table and chairs earlier, write to us and the rest waits.

Parasols, loungers and swing seats
With their bases, thoroughly dry. A closed, tied parasol takes up less room.
Cushions, covers and awnings
Dry and in boxes, 20 kg at most each.
Empty terracotta pots
Clean, free of soil, carefully packed: they are fragile items and must be flagged at pickup.
Not allowed
Plants and soil, gas cylinders, charcoal and firelighters, food and liquids, and any muddy or soaked piece stay out. The potted lemon tree stays with you: plants don't come in. A special piece, a kit pergola or a swing seat? Send us a photo before the pickup.

How much does it cost to store patio furniture in winter?
The monthly rate follows the space the furniture takes up, starting from 1 m². The pickup is paid once and accounts for the floor and the elevator; you pay the redelivery when you book it. Taking furniture apart, if needed, is a separate service on a quote. With a longer commitment the discount goes on the pickup, never on the rate.
