“Excellent service. Whenever I had doubts or questions, they responded very quickly, within a day or two max. The redelivery service is as quick and convenient as it possibly can be, made my life as a student very easy.”

Seasonal storage in Florence: your questions

I live on the top floor of a building with no elevator: does that change anything?

The pickup works the same, but you flag the floor and the elevator when you book because they weigh on the loading time. Any extra time is shown as an estimate before you confirm and settled on the actual time. Weight counts too: boxes of 20 kg at most, so that one person carries them down.

Do you collect in Fiesole, Scandicci or on the hills?

Yes: we collect and redeliver at any address in the province of Florence, from the center to Fiesole, from Bagno a Ripoli to Sesto Fiorentino. Only the quote changes, and you see it online before you confirm.

Can I have the blankets back in October and leave the swimwear?

Yes. There's no button for a partial redelivery: you write to us what you want back, with at least 48 hours' notice, and the rest stays in storage under the same contract.

I have a wool coat worth a lot: can I leave it with you?

Yes, with the insurance: the base limit is included in the rate and, if the item is worth more, you raise it or talk to us before the pickup. If it's a piece of great value, write to us with a photo before booking.

How many boxes fit in a square meter?

The size is the floor area and not the box: it starts at 1 m². To find out which one you fall into, the calculator also allows for the space lost in stacking, and if the footprint turns out different when it reaches the warehouse, the rate adjusts.

Service and local details

What turns the seasonal wardrobe change in Florence into a space problem?

The climate calls for two real wardrobes: wool and down for a damp winter on the plain, linen and cotton for a long hot summer. Homes in historic buildings have tall rooms but often no built-in wardrobes and few storage cabinets. Half the year one half isn't needed: we collect it.

  • High ceilings, few wardrobes

In the buildings of the center and the Oltrarno a wardrobe is a piece of furniture you buy and stand in the middle of a room, not a niche in the wall. A second wardrobe doesn't fit, and past the third heavy blanket it's a matter of geometry.

  • A long summer and a damp winter

From June to September the city dresses in linen and cotton, from November to March in wool. The two halves of the year don't look alike and each sits idle for months: we keep the other.

  • Four flights of stairs and no elevator

Many Florentine buildings have no elevator. A trunk or a full suitcase to carry down every six months becomes a chore you put off: with us you take it down once, and the operator does the stairs.

  • Good garments, treated well

A good wool coat or a leather jacket needs a wide box, not a sack under the bed. If the item is worth a lot, write to us before the pickup and we'll talk it through.

From a bursting wardrobe to the space you wanted back

  1. 1. Fold and fill

Clean, dry clothes in boxes, 20 kg at most each, because one person lifts them. Suitcases and duffel bags we collect as they are.

  2. 2. Tell us how many floors you climb

When you book you state the floor and whether there's an elevator: they count toward the loading time, and you see it in the quote before you confirm.

  3. 3. We come to collect

The operator arrives at the address you give, in the city or elsewhere in the province of Florence, loads and logs each box one by one.

  4. 4. It comes back when the weather turns

You request the redelivery from your account, or by writing to us if you need only part of it, with at least 48 hours' notice. You choose the day, depending on how hot or cold it really is.

What you can store

Allowed

  • Wool, down jackets and coats

Clean, dry and folded in roomy boxes. Good wool doesn't like being squashed: better one box more.

  • Blankets and comforters

The winter ones in summer, and light sheets when it's cold: thoroughly dry, in the biggest box you have.

  • Light clothes, swimwear and sandals

The summer wardrobe spends the winter out of the house, and finds the wardrobe again in spring.

  • Suitcases, bags and shoes

Empty suitcases we collect without a box. Bags and shoes go in a box, clean and dry.

Not allowed

Cash and jewelry, original documents, food and liquids stay with you, as does any garment that's dirty or wet: if it's still damp it doesn't go into the warehouse. For a high-value item, such as a fur or an important evening dress, write to us first: we'll raise the insurance together.

The Florentine wardrobe calendar

In Florence the season changes when it's truly hot or cold, not when the calendar says so. This is a typical year, with what leaves your home and what comes back.

WhenLeaves your homeComes back
April and MayCoats, down jackets, scarves, bootsLinen, cotton, sandals
June and JulyWool blankets and winter comfortersLight sheets, beach towels
September and OctoberSwimwear, sandals, heat-wave clothesJackets, sweaters, closed shoes
NovemberSummer suitcases, beach bagsCoats, down jackets, heavy blankets
Any monthNever: wet clothes, cash, jewelry, original documentsThey stay with you

The dates are indicative: you choose the redelivery day, with 48 hours' notice, when the weather really turns.

How much does it cost to keep a whole season out of the house?

The monthly rate follows the square meters the boxes take up, and starts at 1 m²: you don't need a unit for two wardrobes of clothes. The pickup is a separate item, paid once; it accounts for the floor and the elevator, and you pay the redelivery when you book it. If you commit to more months, the discount goes on the pickup and never on the rate.
