Storing furniture during a separation in Florence: your questions
The new apartment is outside Florence: will you bring the furniture there?
Yes, if the address is in the province of Florence: Scandicci, Sesto Fiorentino, Bagno a Ripoli, Campi Bisenzio, Empoli and the other towns. Further away, goods in storage are shipped on a quote.
The apartment I found is furnished: do I have to keep my own furniture?
It's up to you, and there's no hurry: storage is monthly with no yearly contract. You can keep it while you work out what you need, and have just a few pieces brought back.
Can we have things collected from two different addresses?
Yes, with one pickup per address: each has its own date and its own quote, which you see before confirming.
Who appears on the order, and can it stay in one of our names?
There is a single holder per order: the card is theirs and the charges go to them. The other person doesn't appear on the order, but can be named as a delegate on the day of the pickup.

Can I get only part of the furniture back?
Yes. There's no dedicated button: write to us what you want back and at which address, with at least 48 hours' notice. The rest stays in storage under the same contract.
What if the pickup date no longer works?
A booked pickup can't be canceled, only moved. The first move is free if you tell us at least 48 hours ahead; from the second, or with less notice, you pay 30% of the pickup price.

Where does the furniture go when one of you leaves home in Florence?
Into a cellar, if there is one; otherwise into storage that collects from your door. Finding a new apartment quickly in Florence isn't simple: in the center many homes go to tourists, and anyone looking for a long lease has less choice. Storage takes the pressure off: the furniture leaves the home and comes back once the new address exists.
The new apartment is slow to arrive
Long leases are fewer than tourist rentals, and viewings in the most sought-after districts pile up. While you search, your furniture shouldn't sit in a borrowed garage.
The new place is already furnished
Some rental apartments come with a bed, wardrobes and a kitchen. If you move into one, your furniture isn't needed straight away: it waits in storage, month by month.
It isn't yet decided who keeps what
While the division stays open, things stay still and nobody chooses out of exhaustion.
You're changing town
If you leave Florence for Scandicci, Sesto Fiorentino or Campi Bisenzio, where rents are generally lower, you can have the furniture brought there, within the province, with no extra steps.
From the first pickup to the return
1. Say what is leaving the home
In the quote you give the square meters, the date and the address, and you see the rate and the pickup as two separate items before paying. The order has a single holder, who saves the card.
2. One pickup per address
If your things are in two homes, there are two pickups, each with its own date. If you live on the upper floors of a building with no elevator, say so in the quote.
3. Storage waits for you
The warehouse is indoors, access-controlled, with video surveillance and an alarm. It can't be visited: to see a piece again, we have it brought back.
4. Redelivery goes where it's needed
When there's a new home, you write to us with 48 hours' notice and we bring everything or only part of it. The address can be in another town in the province; further away, goods are shipped on a quote.

A separation has its stages, and for each one where your things are and what you ask of us change. Here they are in order, so storage follows the pace of your decision and not the other way round.

Whoever booked asks for redeliveries and changes. Whose each piece is, you settle yourselves, with whoever assists you, and we bring things back to the address we're given.
How much does it cost to keep furniture until you know where you're going?
The rate is worked out each month on the square meters you take up, using the Florence price list; the pickup is a one-off charge, and you pay for redelivery when you book it. If you commit to more months, the discount applies to the pickup and never to the rate. The charge goes to the card of whoever booked: how you split the cost is for you to decide. You see both items in the quote before you confirm.
