Yes, if it works and is in good condition: electrical appliances can be stored unplugged and clean. Put it in its case or a padded box, and flag it as fragile at pickup.
No. Storage runs month by month and ends when you book the redelivery. There's a minimum commitment only if you choose the length discount, and then you decide how many months.
You pay a monthly rate for the square meters you take up — the scale starts at 1 m² and the rate is fixed per size — plus a one-off pickup and transport charge at the start. Redelivery is booked when you need it and paid for then. The online quote shows you the rate and the pickup before you confirm.
For high-season pickup (June-July), at least 2-3 weeks ahead. For the rest of the year, 3-5 days is enough. A booked pickup isn't cancelled, but the date can be moved: the first move carries no penalty, with at least 48 hours' notice, and if the new day costs more you only pay the difference.
One size per square meter, from 1 to 30 m²: pick the closest to what you need, the quote gives you the exact monthly rate.

Smoves collects boxes, clothes, fabric and collection materials from your home anywhere in the province of Florence and keeps them in the warehouse month by month. You pay a rate for the square meters you take up, plus a one-off pickup. You book the redelivery yourself, when you know where you'll live.
Polimoda has two sites in Florence. Villa Favard, on via Curtatone in the historic center, houses offices, the library and classrooms; the Manifattura, on via delle Cascine inside the former Manifattura Tabacchi, is the lab campus: design, accessories, leather goods, knitwear, tailoring, photo studios.
Students here don't just pile up books. They pile up fittings, samples, offcuts, patterns, the mannequin bought in the second month. In June all of it has to leave a rented room, and your collection blew through the checked-bag weight limit back in November.

Yes: clothes, fabric, patterns, samples and mannequins can all be stored. Delicate garments need careful packing and should be flagged at pickup. Valuables and original artworks stay out: for a piece you really care about, message us in the chat before we come.
It stays in storage, month by month, until you decide. If the new address is in the province of Florence, you book the redelivery from your account. If it's in another city or abroad, it's a shipment: ask us in writing and we send you a quote.
