Storage for a parent moving into a care home FAQ
How long can I keep the furniture with you?
As long as you need. You pay month by month, with no yearly contract, and your things stay in the warehouse until you ask for redelivery.
A piece is missing at the care home: can we get it back?
Yes, with partial redelivery. It isn't a button in your account: you write to us what you want back, with at least 48 hours' notice, and the rest stays in storage.
Who has to be there at the pickup?
Whoever booked, or a person they've delegated. If you can't be there, you can name a relative or someone you trust.
Can I book on behalf of my father or mother?
Yes: the order is yours, the card is yours and you are our contact for pickup and redelivery. Your parent doesn't need to do anything.

Service and local details
When do you need storage if a parent moves into a care home?
When the home has to be emptied, or kept tidy to rent out or sell it, and it isn't yet clear what your parent needs. Storage gives you time: the furniture leaves the house, stays safe, and what's needed at the care home we bring back. You decide one step at a time.
The home is being emptied or put up for sale
An empty home is easier to show, sell or rent out. Meanwhile the furniture shouldn't be scattered.
Little fits in the care home
A room is small. The pieces that matter go there, and the rest waits with us, not thrown out.
Nobody knows how long it will last
The rate is monthly, with no yearly contract: you keep everything for as long as needed and don't pay for a longer period than necessary.
An armchair, a cabinet, a picture that matters
If a piece is missing at the care home, you ask for it back by writing to us: we bring it without touching the rest.
How it works
1. You book online
Whoever handles the home, usually a son or daughter, chooses the square meters and the date. The quote shows the rate and the pickup before you pay.
2. We collect at the home
We come with our crew. Whoever booked has to be there, or a person they've delegated: a sibling, a trusted neighbor.
3. We keep it with care
Furniture and boxes stay in an indoor, dry, access-controlled facility, labeled one by one.
4. We bring back what's needed
A piece for the care home room, or everything for a new home: with 48 hours' notice we redeliver to the address you give us, even only in part.
What you can store
Allowed
Furniture
Bed, wardrobes, sideboard, table, chairs and bookcases, assembled or taken apart.
Appliances
Unplugged, emptied and clean.
Boxes from the home
Linen, dishes, books, family albums: up to 20 kg each.
Pictures, mirrors, lamps
If well packed and flagged at pickup.
Not allowed
We can't keep cash and valuables, jewelry, original documents, medicines, food and liquids, fine art or damaged batteries. A home being emptied often has some: they stay with you. If you're unsure about a piece, write to us before the pickup.
What stays home, what goes to the care home and what comes to us?
Every care home has its own rules on what can go in a room: ask them. This table helps you sort the rest of the home.
| From your parent's home | Where it goes | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Armchair, bedside table, photos, treasured objects | To the care home | According to the care home's rules. You bring them, or we redeliver to that address |
| Large furniture: bed, wardrobes, sideboard | To us | We collect assembled, or taken apart with the pickup on a quote |
| Linen, books, dishes | To us | In boxes, maximum 20 kg each |
| Appliances | To us | If unplugged, emptied and clean |
| Adjustable bed, wheelchair, aids | Write first | We look at these case by case: write to us before the pickup |
| Jewelry, documents, medicines, pantry | Stay with you | They don't go into the warehouse |
The warehouse isn't open to visits: if a piece is needed at the care home, ask for redelivery and we bring it. For partial redelivery, just write to us.
How much does storing the home's furniture cost?
You pay a fixed monthly rate based on the square meters you take up, plus a one-off pickup charge at the start. Redelivery is paid when you book it. If you commit to more months, the discount applies to the pickup, not the rate. The quote shows the rate and the pickup before you book.
