Inherited furniture storage FAQ
How long can I keep the furniture in storage?
As long as you need. The rate is monthly, with no yearly contract, and your things stay with us until you ask for redelivery. The succession's timing is up to the notary and the offices, not us.
There are three of us inheriting: how do we divide the pieces?
With partial redelivery: you ask for it by writing to us, with at least 48 hours' notice, saying what to bring back and to which address. The rest stays in storage. Whoever lives far away can have their pieces shipped, on a quote.
Who can ask for redelivery?
Whoever booked, who is the order holder. If several heirs need to be able to decide, agree on who books: we bring things back where we're told.
Some furniture is antique or valuable: will you take it?
Period furniture yes, if well packed. Fine art and valuable collectibles no. For a high-value piece, write to us before the pickup and we'll agree how to handle it.
More questions
Do we need to be there at the pickup?
Someone has to be: you or a person you've delegated, another heir or a relative included.
What can't I put in storage?
Cash and valuables, jewelry, original documents, medicines, food and liquids, fine art, damaged batteries and hazardous materials. Fragile items, appliances and battery-powered devices are allowed under conditions.

Service and local details
When do you need storage for the furniture of an inherited home?
When the home has to be emptied before you know what to keep: to hand back the keys, to sell, or because the lease ends. Storage moves the decision further on. The furniture leaves the house, stays safe and gets chosen calmly, one piece at a time, even among several heirs.
The home must be handed over or sold
The rooms get emptied by a date, but the choices about each piece can wait.
The succession's timing isn't yours
Notary and offices have their own. The rate is monthly, so storage lasts as long as needed.
The heirs live in more than one city
Each one looks at the pieces in their own time. Whoever lives far away can have chosen pieces shipped, on a quote.
You have little room at home for memories and furniture
A family piece may not fit in your home, without you wanting to sell it yet.
How it works
1. You book online
Choose the square meters and the date. The quote shows the rate and the pickup before you pay. The order has one holder, usually whoever handles the home.
2. We collect at the home
We come to where the house is, with our crew. Someone has to be there at the pickup: you or a person you've delegated, another heir included.
3. We keep it for as long as it takes
Furniture and boxes stay in an indoor, dry, access-controlled facility, each one labeled and logged.
4. We redeliver, even in parts
Once you've decided, you write to us with 48 hours' notice: we bring everything, or just what's needed, with one redelivery for each address. Further away we ship, on a quote.

A home also holds things we can't keep: cash and valuables, jewelry, original documents such as wills and deeds, medicines, food, fine art and valuable collectibles. For a high-value piece, write to us before the pickup.
What turns up in a house, and what can we keep?
Opening wardrobes and drawers turns up everything. This list avoids surprises on pickup day: some things we can't take, and they stay with you.
| In the home you find | Does it go into storage? | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Furniture, chests of drawers, sideboards, beds | Yes | We collect them assembled, or taken apart with the pickup on a quote |
| Books, dinner sets, linen | Yes | In boxes, maximum 20 kg each |
| Pictures, mirrors, ornaments | Yes | Allowed if well packed and flagged at pickup |
| Jewelry, watches, cash, securities | No | They stay with you |
| Wills, deeds, original documents | No | They stay with you or with whoever follows the case |
| Medicines, pantry, drinks | No | Food, medicines and liquids don't go into the warehouse |
An antique or valuable piece isn't a problem to hide: write to us before the pickup and we'll see how to handle it. The warehouse isn't open to visits: to see a piece again, we have it brought back.
How much does storing inherited furniture cost?
You pay a fixed monthly rate based on the square meters you take up, plus a one-off pickup charge at the start. Redelivery is paid when you book it, and shipping to another address is done on a quote. If you commit to more months, the discount applies to the pickup, not the rate. The quote shows the rate and the pickup before you book.
